The Porsche 907 (chassis 005 SE 8089) was driven by Alex Soler-Roig on the 24H of Le Mans in 1968. Its 8 cylinder boxer engine called Fuhrmann had a capacity of 2195 cc., yielding an output of 275 hp.
This 907 L entered by Squadra Tartaruga was a semi-official Porsche. Driven by Swiss Rico Steinemann (who later became Porsche’s Sporting Manager) and Dieter Spoerry, both experts in GT and prototypes.
The introduction of new rules by the FIA in 1968 had a negative effect on the 12 Hours of Sebring and all other endurance races of that year. Big bore cars were no longer part of the Manufacturers Championship, placing now emphasis on smaller displacement cars (5 liters or less).
The Capri was Ford’s successful adaptation of the Mustang to the European market. The name says it all, the marketing department of the manufacturer wanted to evoke, holidays, pizza and sun.RS is the abbreviation for Rally Sport.
Designed by Carlo Chiti, was based on a multi-tubular chassis, from there its name TT (Telaio Tubular in Italian), with a 12-cylinder engine in a 180° angle, four valves per cylinder, it achieved 500 HP and allowed the vehicle to reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
